Education

Our goal is to prepare the catechumens and candidates for full initiation into the Catholic Church and a lifelong commitment of sharing the Paschal mystery.

Religious Education for Elementary Students

Children, grades 1-6, who do not attend Holy Family School are invited to participate in our online religion classes, My Catholic Faith Delivered. The cost is $25 per student. These classes have approximately 30 lessons each year for each grade level. Also included are prayers they should learn, pre and post tests, and activities. The group is invited to join together for parish activities 2-3 times per year. Sacramental classes for second graders and older are NOT online classes.

Youth Group

Holy Family Catholic Parish offers both a Jr. High (grades 7-8) and a Sr. High (grades 9-12) youth group. These groups meet Sundays during the school year. The youth of our parish are very active in church and community outreach.

Adult Education

Holy Family Catholic Parish offers many opportunities for our members. Ladies Monday Morning Prayer Group, Men Group, OCIA, Lenten Journey and much more.

OCIA

Are you interested in learning more about Catholicism? Do you have friends or acquaintances who are questioning what Catholicism is all about? Do you have Catholic family members or friends who have fallen away from the Faith? Invite them to investigate the truth about Catholicism by joining the OCIA group at Holy Family. Our group meets once a week beginning in September until Easter. Practicing Catholics are encouraged to join as well. You are guaranteed to learn things about the Church you never knew.

OCIA is a Sacramental formation process based on the fundamental values of the Christian way of life reflected in our parish community. Throughout the OCIA journey, we grow in knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Faith while at the same time being open to the transforming and renewing power of the Holy Spirit. The format of instruction is group presentation, individual study and prayer. Sponsors for our community companion and support our candidates on their spiritual journey.

Safe Net

In compliance with Diocesan guidelines, Holy Family Catholic Parish has taken steps to ensure that ALL children and vulnerable adults served by our volunteers are protected. ALL volunteers serving on behalf of our parish must complete the "Volunteer For Ministry" course offered annually at Holy Family. Once you have completed the course, you will receive a certificate of completion. We ask that if you have taken the class in a location other than Holy Family that you submit a copy to the parish office for our records. After you have fulfilled this initial class, all annual renewals will be done online.

For ministries serving children and vulnerable adults, this is a mandatory requirement by the Diocese. In addition, volunteers serving in these ministries (which include but are not limited to Faith Formation & Youth Ministry teachers, aides & chaperones, Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound, Nursing Home & Hospitals) must also submit a background check form and maintain a cleared background check on file with us as long as they are serving in these ministries. Background checks are good for 3 years. In addition to keeping your Background check current, your Safe Environment Volunteer course must be renewed annually. The annual update is done online. You need only do ONE per year as long as you serve in ministry. Repeating the "Volunteer for Ministry" course does NOT fulfill your annual update obligation.
